Street Couture–For their spring/summer 2013 menswear collection, Frankie Morello designers Maurizio Modica and Pierfrancesco Gigliotti had a little fun, leading their man into a campy version of a dark and urban Los Angeles. The classic duality between black & white accompanies the Frankie Morello man. For this collection, the designers revisited the traditional streetwear and sportswear, embellishing them with gold reflections, as seen on the metallic mesh pieces or into the oversize golden jewels and chains. Frankie Morello’s man of swagger also loves to get dressed in a sophisticated and sartorial way, reworked for the occasion in an unconventional way. Think about python prints, that decorate leather or techno-fabric pieces, black lace, sparkling crystals details, or the exclusive “Ghetto Blaster” motif that revisits the legendary boombox, the inseparable techno-friend of a real “B-Boy”. This collection is surely about sportswear and streetwear, but the way they’re presented is definitely more detail-oriented, revealing an almost-couture sense of style. Check the photos below..
